Land of Talk: Some Are Lakes

I haven’t found a decent transcription of the lyrics to this song, but it’s one of those you can learn just by phonetics and it won’t really matter because it’s a beautiful song. Except for the “And I’ll love you likeĀ I’ll love you when I die”. That part’s discernable, and very pretty at that.

I speak of Some Are Lakes, a song by Land of Talk, a Montreal indie-rock trio that have a number of great songs. I just felt like writing about this one because it’s perfect for those deep, pensive, autumn moments. Elizabeth Powell has a beautiful voice and these soft vocals against gritty backdrops make for really great songs. This song is off of their new album of the same name, released by Saddle Creek Records in the U.S a few weeks ago. Check out Summer Specialty, also by them, off of their Applause Cheer Boo Hiss EP.

Check it out on their MySpace.
