You! Stop Snorting!
“Why can’t we all just be honest, admit to ourselves that everyones on it, from worn politicians to young adolescents, prescribing themselves antidepressants”.
These are the lyrics to Lily Allen’s new song, Everyone’s At It. She’s previewing the new single from the followup to 2006’s Smile through her MySpace page. The song is a little somber and I think it’s supposed to be like a kick in the head to all young adults and parents. I just can’t decide, though, whether the fact that we’ve all seen her wasted out of her mind countless times gives her more property to sing something like this or just totally undermines what she’s trying to say.
It’s not a bad song, though. It grows on you. Like a lot of her stuff, the jolly rythm and tune is a big contrast to what she’s actually singing if you stop and listen for a sec. It’s a cool effect.
