Never Gonna Give It Up, Huh?
Kanye West and MTV are off again, but this time it’s for an award he did receive.
The rapper says that the only reason he bested Lil’ Wayne for the Ultimate Urban award was because he was present at the show — and pointed to Britney Spears’ Best Act of 2008 win (over Rihanna) and Rick Astley’s designation as Best Act Ever (over U2, Green Day, and pretty much everyone, ever!) as further evidence that the show’s results were weighted favorably towards those who RSVP’d “yes.”
Kanye’s got a point, at least with when it comes to Astley: We can’t imagine that the “Never Gonna Give You Up” singer’s schedule wasn’t, you know, a little bit flexible.
